The Illustrators
As important as the words used to describe the adventures were the pictures used to illustrate the drama (and sometimes comedy) that was unfolding in the story. As was the case with the authors, there were relatively few artists for the internal illustrations over the years, but there were a few more artists who contributed cover illustrations. The following list highlights some of the more prominent illustrators for the Random House editions of the books.
