Robert Adragna

Random House eventually decided to release all the adventures of the Three Investigators in paperback, and Robert Adragna drew the illustrations for the new covers. Adragna had already taken over cover illustrations of the hardbacks beginning with "Sinister Scarecrow" and had a drawing style that is detailed and engaging. Unfortunately, his drawings of the boys on most of the covers bear little resemblance to the illustrations of Harry Kane, and it appears almost as though he were drawing a different set of boys on each cover (i.e., the boys on any given cover do not strongly resemble the boys on a different cover).

In general, though, Adragna gave us some of the most colorful book covers and moved the boys' books into the 1980s.
