The Mystery of the Whispering Mummy

Author: Robert Arthur
Cover Illustration: Harry Kane
Internal Illustrations: Harry Kane

Synopsis:
A friend of Alfred Hitchcock's has a mummy from Egypt that unexplainably begins to whisper to him in an unknown language. The boys are contacted to solve the mystery of how and why the mummy whispers.

Tidbits: During the course of this mystery, Jupe and Pete have their only genuine argument in the series. After their initial visit with Professor Yarborough, Pete wants to drop the whispering mummy case and pursue another less dangerous case, but he does not know that the cases are connected. Also, when Pete and Jupe are discussing the use of the Rolls Royce, Jupe hints that he already has an idea of how to extend their use of the vehicle, even though that plot point isn't formally introduced until "Fiery Eye."
